NEWS: BANDCAMP / SHOP

It’s not all about me, y’all. But it mostly is! I swished up my Bandcamp page a little (as seen above), adding a snazzy image map with links and stuff. All done online and for free. Me and my un-techy brain. Man, those authentic web designers and coders must be pulling out their hair at the work they’re losing to amateur techies getting online and doing it for free.

As a musician, I know exactly how that feels.

Is it a good or bad thing though?

You can view my new shopfront and, you know, buy stuff, here.

SHOW: Live @ The Gallery Cafe, 18 Aug 2010

It’s been a while, but I’m really pleased to announce my next gig: at The Gallery Cafe, Bethnal Green, London on Wednesday 18th August, 2010.

More details to follow.

TUTORIALS: 10 TIPS FOR SONGWRITERS

Musician extraordinaire, Dr Who afficionado and fellow FAWMer Tom Slatter has rather wonderfully collated and edited a nifty little eBook, 10 Tips for Songwriters. 18 songwriters, myself included, share their thoughts on how they go about writing songs and improving themselves as songwriters.

If you’ve even a passing interest in how songs are written, it’s worth a flick through as all the tips are bite-sized and cover a diverse perspective on the subject.

Tom’s songwriting blog, Songwright is here - where you can also download your free copy of 10 Tips for Songwriters.

I’m clearing the decks, in preparation for some boxed fresh recordings. Home recorded songs, 2007 - 2010 are up for grabs. Representing the whole spectrum of my first forays into songwriting - literally - there will be roughly 25 recordings made available for free download.

All I need is your email address. Jajajaja.

NEWS: DEMO DOWNLOAD ALBUM

If you’re a mailing list subscriber, the first track 1 of my free download album will have made its way to your inbox. Lookout for the download code to get your paws on it.

If you’re not a mailing list subscriber and would like to get in on the goodies, you know what you have to do: sign up here.

News: Welcome note

Welcome to marietueje.com. I am a songwriter, composer and sound artist, Manchester United fan and meat-eater. On this site you’ll find mini posts from me about the music I make and (sometimes) the processes I employ to make it.

There are a full list of links above where you can preview, download and buy some of my work. By joining my mailing list you’ll also have access to some of my work not available elsewhere.

MAILING LIST: REFRESH

If you’re on my mailing list there are now two reasons to be cheerful.

1. I’ve freshened up the format of my newsletters a little; subscribers should look out for a new one in the next few days.

2. I’m making lots - about 25 in all - of demo recordings available for free download. Weird looking codes will filter into your inbox every 10 days or so giving you the chance to make a personalised collection based on the songs that you like. They’ll also be a info booklet on all the tracks available so you can complete your very own little Marie Tueje demo set. How lovely is that?

News: The Price Of Love on Bandcamp

The Price of Love on Bandcamp
‘Ello! Download The Price Of Love free from Bandcamp. Isn’t that wonderful?

The Special Edition CD still costs EUR 5, and includes the download too, natch, but I wanted to belatedly celebrate my union with Bandcamp. Stop reading this, and go get it here.

Tracklisting (download):

1. The Price Of Love

2. A Rambler’s Progress

3. Just Because

4. A Rambler’s Progress (Version)

Tracklisting (special edition)*:

1. The Price Of Love

2. A Rambler’s Progress

3. Just Because

4. West End Girls

*Special edition is a handmade 8-page DIY guide to The Price Of Love.

EDIT: As of 14 September, 2010 all my releases have switched to the name your price price-point. I’m still assessing what formula gives the best of both worlds; allowing me to attach an expressed value to my music but trying to keep things fair for the casual listener and fan alike.
