Marie Tueje's blog: short texts about all things.

I wasn't going to write about my being selected for the John Brabourne Award. The January 2017 awardees were announced last week, whilst I was in New York, and after the Lord Mayor's Show feels a bit, well... after the Lord Mayor's Show.

As truly chuffed and excited as I am to be a beneficiary, it's not very interesting to read me going on about it. So I won't. Instead, I'll just mention how wonderful it is that an award like this exists, and how wonderful that it exists to a whole host of professions and specialisations (such as my own) that often way down the pecking order when money, training and opportunities are being handed out. Seen in that way, this award is a reminder that investment in film and television expertise needs to happen with vigour and with care across all departments.
