Generally speaking I'm the type of person who will adapt to circumstances as they present themselves, rather than bawl about trying to have things exactly how I like them. Being this way has its advantages - this quality lends itself to being pragmatic, mostly sanguine, adaptable, and unflustered; all positive 'soft skills' to possess, so they tell me.
However, for a while I've come to believe that along with those positives, there are also a few negatives associated with being 'happy with your lot', or 'making the best' of a situation. So much so that I am call this year 'The Year of Finding Out'. Rather than making do and adapting a situation or circumstance to make it work, I'm going to find out how I can make things how I really want them.
